What’s your favorite flower?
It’s one of those classic get-to-know-you questions, but as florists, we’ve learned it doesn’t always reveal as much as you’d think. Most answers tend to land in familiar territory: roses, lilies, daisies, sunflowers, tulips. Beautiful? Absolutely. But also… expected. We don’t think these are everyone’s true favorite flowers. We think they’re simply the most recognized. The flowers with the best PR teams, if you will.
So today, we’re inviting you a little deeper into the world of flowers—the one we get to live in every day. Below are some of our lesser-known favorite flowers, the stems we reach for again and again, and the ones we’d love to cast as the breakout star in your next arrangement.
Clara’s Picks

“Blu Ocean” Poms
Blue flowers are one of the most requested—and the rarest. These newly introduced, genetically developed mums answer that call beautifully. Clara’s favorite flower, Light Blue Sapphire, has a dusty, denim-like tone that feels both modern and moody. Bottom, right of photo.

Light Blue Delphinium
A classic line flower that brings height and elegance. Long-lasting and airy, it’s a staple for adding movement to arrangements.

White Hyacinth
Fragrant, textural, and full of charm. Its tightly clustered star-shaped blooms make it perfect for early spring designs—and especially for prom season wearables.

“Celeb Grape” Lisianthus
A creamy blend of cool pink and lavender, this lisianthus feels almost ethereal. It’s soft, romantic, and quietly striking.

Pink Snapdragon
Often overlooked, but never by us. This cheerful, vertical bloom adds structure and a warm pop of color.

“Café au Lait” Dahlia
Oversized, dreamy, and fleeting. These blush-toned beauties are best saved for meaningful moments—weddings, celebrations of life, and everything in between.

“Free Spirit” Rose
Not your average rose. With ruffled petals in a sunset ombré of pink, orange, and golden yellow, it’s bold, fragrant, and unforgettable.

Cherry Blossom Branches
A true seasonal showstopper. These delicate blooms arrive briefly each spring, bringing softness and a sense of renewal.

“Sweet Sixteen” Wax Flower
A filler that deserves more attention. This variety mixes bright pink and white blooms for a playful, high-impact accent.
McCall’s Picks

“Veggie” Rose
Yes, it’s a rose—but you might mistake it for a cabbage. This green focal flower adds unexpected texture and a fresh, modern edge.

Peach Ranunculus
An absolute favorite flower for its color range alone. Each bloom carries subtle ombré tones that blend effortlessly into almost any palette.

Lavender Campanula
Also known as Canterbury bells, these delicate blooms stack into a soft, whimsical line—perfectly cottage-core.

Pink Cremone
A large, single mum bloom with a soft lavender-pink hue. It’s a durable, cost-effective alternative to more delicate statement flowers.

“Crème Brûlée” Cushion
Just as delicious as it sounds. These blooms blend from pale yellow to warm rust, making them a natural color bridge in arrangements.

Bells of Ireland
Tall, sculptural, and a little whimsical. Their bright green tones and gentle curves make a statement—just watch for the tiny thorns.

White Button Poms
Simple, versatile, and endlessly useful. These small blooms go with everything—and last beautifully.

Light Pink Astilbe
Soft, feathery, and feminine. Perfect for adding a dreamy, airy texture.

Feverfew (Chamomile)
Tiny, floating daisies that bring instant cheer. While delicate, their charm is unmatched for a light, joyful feel.
Mati’s Picks

White Phalaenopsis Orchid
Graceful and mesmerizing. Each stem cascades with intricate blooms that feel almost otherworldly up close.

White Mini Calla Lily
Clean, modern, and elegant. A refined alternative to traditional lilies—and a personal favorite with a story (it inspired Mati’s latest tattoo).

Antique Hydrangea
Rich, marbled tones of jewel-like color. No two bunches are ever the same, which makes them feel extra special.

Buttery Yellow Stock
Fluffy, fragrant, and dependable. One of the best-smelling flowers we carry, in a shade that feels like sunshine.

Red Amaranthus
Dramatic and flowing, perfect for adding movement and a modern cascade—especially in wedding work.

“Albino” White Anemone
A bloom that transforms. As it opens, it reveals a striking green center that feels completely unique.

Blue Tweedia
Tiny, star-shaped blooms in the sweetest sky blue. Small but impactful when thoughtfully placed.

Pink Gladiolus
Tall, bold, and ready for a comeback. Ideal for large-scale designs and statement moments.

“Champagne Bubbles” Icelandic Poppy
Delicate like crêpe paper, but bold in presence. Their bright centers and vibrant tones make them unforgettable.
It was no small task narrowing down our favorites, but that’s the beauty of flowers. There’s always something new to discover, something overlooked waiting to be appreciated.
If any of these blooms caught your eye, we’d love to design with them for you. Many of these varieties are specialty stems, so placing a pre-order ensures we can have them fresh in the cooler, ready to shine in your arrangement.
So tell us… did you find a new favorite? Or is there a hidden gem you think we should feature next time?
